Randy Hires- Manager / Funeral Director
Randy Hires graduated in 1986 from the Mortuary Science Program of Southern Illinois University School of Technical Careers. He has been a part of the Airsman-Hires family since 1984. Randy is the son of Jesse Hires, a former partner of Airsman-Hires Funeral Homes, and the father of two sons, Nick and Adam. Randy has spent the last 25 years serving the communities of Pittsfield and Griggsville where he sang with the Rotary Club´s Barbershop Quartet which performed throughout the state. He served on the Griggsville Cemetery Board of Directors and is also a member of Griggsville Masonic Lodge #45 A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Quincy Valley Consistory Order of the Scottish Rite. Randy enjoyes computers and electronic gadgets. He also enjoyes riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, watching hockey, and playing music.
Howard May- Funeral Director
Howard has been a part of the Airsman - Hires family since 1995. Prior to joining the firm, Howard was the owner and funeral director of May Funeral Home in St. Elmo and Pocahontas, Illinois; owner and operator of Heritage Home Nursing Home in St. Elmo, Illinois; and owner and operator of Howard?s Men?s Wear in St. Elmo. He attended Indiana University and is a graduate of Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis, Indiana. Howard serves as a member on the Community Development Committee in Waverly. He is a member of both the National Funeral Director?s Association and the Illinois Funeral Director?s Association (IFDA) where he serves on the Historical Committee which facilitates the Museum of the IFDA and is the past President of District #14. He is a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge #118; a member and past patron of the Wilbur Chapter, order of the Eastern Star, Jacksonville; a member of the Lions Club of Palmyra and former president of the Lions Club, St. Elmo, Illinois. Howard served two terms as Coroner of Fayette County, Illinois. In his leisure time, Howard is an avid antique collector and enjoys reading.
