Helen Irene Wagner, 94, of Carrollton died on Friday Oct. 20, 2006 at 3:30 P.M. at Jerseyville Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville.
Born on Sept. 2, 1912 in Carrollton she was the daughter of the late William and Maude McCormick Griffin. She was raised by the late Bill and Cora Kirbach.
She was married to Henry Wagner who preceded her in death in 1970. Surviving is a sister Josey Ulery of Hardin and several nieces and nephews and cousins and friends. She was also preceded by 2 sisters: Blanche Hayes and Lena Dwyer and 2 brothers: Emmert and Lawrence Griffin. Mrs. Wagner was a former school teacher, worked at Geers Dept. Store in Carrollton and had served as a tax assessor for Greene County. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Carrollton.
She will be sadly missed for her gentle way and her smile.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M. on Monday at the Faith Baptist Church where services will be held at 11 A.M. with burial to follow in Carrollton City Cemetery.
