| Geraldine E. “Gerry??? Ladage, 85 of Waverly died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield. She was born February 14, 1924 in New Berlin, the daughter of John and Dorothy Kerr Aubrey. She married Russell Ladage Feb. 10, 1946 in Alton and he preceded her in death Aug. 18, 1993. She is survived by two sons; Terry (Janet) Ladage of Champaign and Steve (Lynn) Ladage of Waverly; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister, Lela Jackson. Gerry was a primarily a homemaker, but in the early years, taught in a one-room school in Palmyra, worked as a beautician for eight years, and was a health-medical underwriter with Horace Mann Insurance for 28 years. She loved cross-stitch, and embroidery, and could play several musical instruments. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where she was organist for twelve years. Funeral Service is 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church in Waverly, with burial in Waverly East Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 AM until service time.
