| Ross Virgil Newingham, age 89 of White Hall, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville. He was born July 26, 1920 in Hillview, the son of Clarence Virgil and Rose Pearl Henson Newingham. He is survived by a son, Randy Dean Newingham (friend Christine Stone), of Kampsville, and a daughter Sandra Brashers of Paradice, California, five grandchildren, Joey, Clint, Randy, Cory, and Michelle. Also surviving are two sisters, Nedra Newton of Pittsfield, and Kay Parker of New Berlin, four brothers, Ned Newingham of Gillespie, Donald Newingham of White Hall, Norbert Newingham of Kelso, Washington, and Gary Newingham of O’Fallon. He was preceded in death four brothers, Harold, Ralph, Edward, Herbert, and Paul Newingham and two sisters, Darlene Wallis, and Rose Mae Newingham. Has a World War II army veteran where he saw action in battles at Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was owner/operator of Newingham Tree Service in White Hall for many years. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Pine Tree Cemetery near Patterson. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall. Memorials may be made to Patterson Community Club or the family.
