| Etta Dellouise York, 91, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday morning February 24, 2010 at Prairie Village Healthcare Center. She was born on April 5, 1918 in Waverly, IL., the daughter of Richard and Fairy Howard Edge. Etta married Horace Gordon York on December 21, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 8, 1976. Mrs. York is survived by one daughter Shelia Long of Woodson, IL., fifteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson Christopher DeJaynes. Etta was a foster mother who also ran her own daycare, and she worked as a cook at Jacksonville Developmental Center. In her lifetime, she fostered and took care of over 482 children. She also attended the First Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday March 1, 2010 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
