| Billy G. Weyl, Sr., 65, of Quincy, and formerly of Jacksonville, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born February 20, 1945, in Jacksonville, the son of Garnett M. “Bill??? and Edna Howell Weyl. Billy is survived by one daughter, Amanda (husband, Brad) Littig of Bluffs; two sons, Billy G. Weyl, Jr. and Brian N. Weyl, both of Springfield; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Garnet (husband, Harold) Cook of Jacksonville. One sister, Doris Lippert, and one brother, Dwight Chamberlain, preceded him in death. Billy was a machinist at Capital Records in Jacksonville for 30 years. Following his retirement, he volunteered at the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper, stationed in Panama. Billy enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Williamson Funeral Home, with burial at military honors at Arenzville North Cemetery in Arenzville. The family will meet friends from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A luncheon will be held following the service at V.F.W. Post 1379 in Jacksonville.
