| Ollie C. Taylor, 89 of Virden, formerly of Hettick, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Sunrise Manor in Virden. She was born May 14, 1920 in Essex, MO, the daughter of James and Hydra Greer Darby. She married Orville Ellis and later divorced. She married Ralph R. Taylor in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by a son, Jerry (Esther) Ellis of Springfield, MO; three daughters, Jean (Keith) Hazelwood of Carlinville, Joan (Donald) Otten of Virden, Janet (Bob) Burrell of Metamora; blessed with 14 grandchildren and a multitude of Great and Great-Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son Ralph Taylor, Jr. a brother Albert Darby; five sisters, Beulah Baker, Elizabeth Schilivance, Iva Greer, Bertha Roberts, Mary Dell Grim, and a grandson, Stephen Taylor. She was a homemaker who enjoyed piano, fishing and family. She attended Gilead Baptist Church. Funeral Service is 11:00 am Monday, March 8 at Stults-Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Palmyra, with burial in Hettick City Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior, at the funeral home.
