| David Allen “Dog??? Darr, age 73, of Hillview, died peacefully Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born May 24, 1936 in Alton, to the late William and Rosemary Pegram Darr. He married Linda Lou Griffin on November 5, 1956 in Senatobia, Mississippi and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Tina (husband, Ed) Lawson of rural White Hall; Carla (husband, Kenny) Branham of rural Hillview and Jenny (husband, Tony) Godar of Lynnville; six grandchildren, Jake (wife, Rhonda) Lawson of rural Hillview, Joshua Lawson of rural White Hall; Ivy and Nicholas Gioscio and Emily and Connor Godar; five great grandchildren, Justin, Ethan and Emma Lawson; Zachery Lawson and Caleb Brown; one sister, Robin Scoggins of Carrollton; one niece, Vicky Grafford and one nephew, Donny Scoggins, both of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two granddaughters. David farmed for over 58 years. He served his country, was a Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Hillview American Legion. He was a member of the Walkerville Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest enjoyment was vacationing in Branson, Missouri with his family. He was a loving husband and father. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no formal services. A potluck will be held at the Walkerville Baptist Church from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in White Hall was in charge of arrangements. | |||||
