| Mabel Shoemaker, age 89, of the Eastside Healthcare in Pittsfield, Il. and formerly of Perry, Il. died early Sunday morning (March 7, 2010) at the Eastside Healthcare. She was born June 11, 1920 near Mt. Sterling, Il. daughter of the late Emanuel and Minnie Allen Shoemaker. Surviving is a sister, Lily Cunningham of Peoria, Il.; a special niece, Thelma Butler of Griggsville, Il. as well as several other nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bonnie Phillips and Nora Shoemaker; and brothers, Earl Shoemaker, Elza Shoemaker, Emory Shoemaker, Roy Shoemaker, Clyde Shoemaker, and Burt Shoemaker. She was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church in Pittsfield, Il. She loved to do embroidery and quilting. She also loved animals and children. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday (March 11, 2010) at Wilson Cemetery in Perry, Il. There will be no visitation.
