Archie Ruble, 75, of Nebo, IL died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. He was born February 3, 1937 in rural Nebo, the son of Charles and Eda Doyle Ruble. He married Naomi Stipp on October 19, 1968 in Gibson City, IL and she survives. He is also survived by one son, Philip (Jennifer) Ruble of Nebo; two granddaughters, Sadie and Addy Ruble, both of Nebo; one brother, Ora (Mary) Ruble of Milton, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Paul Ruble; and three sisters, Linda Hays and twins, in infancy. Mr. Ruble attended Clover Grade School and Milton High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He farmed in the Nebo area for several years and served as Road Commissioner for the Hardin Township for twenty years. Archie enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a true “family man”, and was especially proud of his granddaughters. A funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Pittsfield with burial at Burbridge Cemetery, near Pittsfield. Family will meet friends 5–8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Burbridge Cemetery or charity of the donor’s choice. We are sorry to hear of Archie's passing. Roger really enjoyed Archie, Roger helped work on Archies equipment through John Deere. Roger thought the world of Archie and he was such a pleasure to be around. Archie will sadly be missed and Roger is glad he has some good memories of him.
