Calvin Jay Larson, 60, of Camden died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born October 28, 1951 in Carthage, the son of Minor and Marie Turner Larson. Surviving is his son Cody Larson (companion Tiffany Kassing) of Beardstown; his daughter Amanda Lashbrook of Clarksville, TN; three granddaughters; one brother Roy Larson of Iowa; and one sister Sharon Larson of Colchester. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Gene, Loren, and Larry. Calvin graduated from Rushville High School and was formerly employed with Cargill in Beardstown. He enjoyed keeping busy doing things for other people, being outdoors, hunting, and fishing. There will be a “Celebration of Life” service at a later date. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements.

Calvin and I rode the school bus for all 12 years. and then after school we would visit when we saw each other. he was a very nice man. I remember how he took so good care of his mother.

To the family of Calvin. I graduated with Calvin & my family has known him for years. All of us used to go deer hunting together. He used to visit us in ripley. He even changed a car motor in our garage. He will be so sadly missed. i used to see him in the store where I worked & we would talk. My sincere sympathy from our family to yours!
