Betty L. Neece, age 89, of St. Joseph’s Home in Springfield, Il. and formerly of Waverly, Il. died early Thursday (July 26, 2012) at St. Joseph’s Home. She was born March 3, 1923 in Loveland, Colorado, daughter of the late James & Edna McDougle Pancake. She married William H. Neece, Jr. on October 10, 1945 in Chicago, Il. and he preceded her in death July 31, 2001. Surviving is a daughter, Debra Neece of Springfield, Il.; and a son, William “Bill” Neece and wife Daria of Springfield, Il. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Dick Neece. Betty was a graduate of Jacksonville High School then attended Passavant Nursing School and following graduation became a R.N. at Passavant Hospital. Following her marriage to her husband, Bill, they owned and operated Neece Funeral Homes in Franklin, Il. and Waverly, Il. for many years. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday (July 30, 2012) at the Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, Il. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Home in Springfield, Il. c/o Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 Tanner, Waverly, Il. 62692 Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.
