Memory Book
Jim was a student in my education classes during my last year of teaching at Millikin University. He had a very long commute and a very heavy class load. Because he usually arrived to my classroom early, we had time to talk. At the time, I was in treatment for cancer. Jim was so kind and helpful to me, and he talked often about his family and his faith. I am very sorry for your loss. Darlene Hoffman

Jim was in my class at Millikin University during my last year of teaching. Jim had a heavy class load and a very long commute. At the time, I was in treatment for cancer. Jim arrived early for my class most days and we had time to chat most mornings. Jim was kind and helpful to me. He was very committed to his family & I knew that he had health issues as well. I am very sorry for your loss. God bless!

I was so sorry to hear that Jimmy lost his heroic battle with cancer. My heart breaks for your entire family. Growing up on the farm, Jimmy was like the little brother I didn't have. Such amazing memories I have of those times. I wasn't around Jimmy as an adult, so in my mind he's still the cutest little guy you ever did see. Having just gone through our own loss, I can say the days get easier, but the loss leaves a gaping hole that I guess we never fill...just learn to walk around. My love to you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim at PSI, an engineering firm in Springfield about 8 years ago or so. As his cousin Randy said at the funeral today, Jim had a heart bigger than himself. Never heard him say a negative thing about anyone. I will always remember Jim as such a consistently kind person; day in and day out. I pray that you, the family and friends of Jim, feel the powerful peace and comfort that only God's hand can provide during this difficult time.
