| Dorothy Mae Rueter 101 of Winchester passed away late Wednesday evening August 8, 2012 at the Scott County Nursing Center. She was born May 18, 1911 in Scott County to George W. and Minnie Templin Walker. She married Elmer J. Rueter in 1938 at Farmers Retreat, Indiana. Dorothy was a faithful member of Bloomfield Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, a cook at the Junction Café and President of the Bloomfield Community Club. She loved singing hymns, fishing, growing violets and roses. Later in retirement she enjoyed hand sewing silk quilts. Surviving is her son Billie D. Rueter (wife Frances), grandson Jonathan Rueter, granddaughter Leanne Motley-Smith (husband Randy) and a great grandson Brennan Motley all of Winchester, and a sister Margie Steuck (husband Bob) of Pittsfield. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Elmer, brothers Otto, Milo “Jones”, and Bill, and sisters Mary and Lucille. Funeral will be held at 2 pm Saturday August 11, 2012 at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery near Bluffs. Friends may call from 1 pm until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Scott County Nursing Center.
