| Virginia Leah Wubker, 89, of Frederick died Friday, August 24, 2012, at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was born October 6, 1922 in Cooperstown, the daughter of George E. and Nora Tucker Thompson. She married Edward B. Wubker on December 28, 1941 and he preceded her in death July 28, 1998. Surviving are three daughters Carole (husband Rick) Dawson of Frederick, Dianne Estes of Beardstown, and Sandi (husband Butch) Tritsch of Frederick; nine grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and her sister Helen Hay of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Rick, and her daughter Suzanne Canada. Mrs. Wubker graduated from Beardstown High School in the class of 1942 and at that time she was employed with Illinois Glove Factory in Beardstown while her husband served in World War II. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown and also served as a cook for the St. John’s Lutheran School for many years. Virginia had a “green thumb” and thoroughly enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable garden and then canning the produce she grew. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beardstown. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery near Beardstown. The family will meet with friends from 5 until 7 PM Monday at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown. Memorials have been suggested to Walker Nursing Home Activity Fund or St. John’s Lutheran Church. | |||||
